تأسس أول مجلس بلدي عام 1912 تعاقب على مجالسها البلدية(45) خمسه واربعون رئيساً بين تعين وانتخاب . تبعد مدينة مادبا عن العاصمة عمان(35) كم إلى الشمال الغربي.يبلغ عدد سكانها (165.000)مائة وخمسة وستون ألف نسمه . المجلس البلدي الحالي يتكون من (15) شخصاً رئيس بلدية ونائب الرئيس (13)عضواً ويتبع بلدية مادبا
ثلاث مناطق :
منطقة ماعين والمنشية.
منطقة الفيصلية.
منطقة المريجمات والحوية.
هناك مكتبات للاطفال والناشئين واربع حدائق :
حديقة المرحوم المهندس احمد قطيش.
حديقة الملكه رانيا.
حديقة الكرامة.
حديقة زيد بن حارثة.
انجازات المجلس البلدي الحالي :
تقوم البلدية بنقل (150.000)مائة وخمسون طن من النفايات يومياً. مساحة مادبا والمناطق – (450)كم2. المساحة المنظمة – (40)كم2.
